Rental Conditions
Rental Requirements
All motorcycle rentals require the following documentation and qualifications:
- Valid passport for identification
- Current driver’s license from your home country
- Demonstrated motorcycle riding experience
- International driving permit with motorcycle endorsement (strongly recommended and required by Thai law for legal operation)
Damage, Loss, and Liability
Renters are financially responsible for any damage to the motorcycle beyond normal wear and tear.
The renter assumes full liability for theft or loss of the motorcycle during the rental period.
Renters are responsible for any damage caused to third-party property while operating the motorcycle.
Any legal penalties, fines, or fees incurred while riding the motorcycle are the renter’s responsibility.
Riding is at your own risk. Ducky’s Motorcycle Rental disclaims all liability for personal injury, loss, or damage.
Insurance Coverage
All motorcycle rentals include comprehensive insurance protection with the following coverage limits:
Third Party Liability
- Bodily injury or death per person: ฿500,000
- Bodily injury or death per accident: ฿10,000,000
- Public liability for property damage: ฿300,000
Additional Protection
- Personal accident coverage: ฿50,000
- Bail bond coverage: ฿300,000
Important: Insurance coverage is only valid with a proper international driving permit that includes motorcycle certification. Please note that while insurance covers third-party claims, renters remain financially responsible for damage to the rental bike, any third party damage in excess of insurance coverage, and other costs as detailed.
Optional Property Protection
We offer additional coverage for motorcycle damage protection. Without this coverage, renters assume full responsibility for any damage to the rental motorcycle. Coverage applies only within Thailand and includes a deductible per incident.
Property Protection Rates:
- Daily rental: ฿300
- Weekly rental: ฿1,500
- Monthly rental: ฿4,500
- Deductible per claim: ฿15,000
Security Deposits
Choose from three convenient deposit options:
Cash Deposit (Requires leaving passport)
- Daily rentals: ฿5,000
- Weekly or longer rentals: ฿10,000
- International border crossings: ฿30,000
Deposits accepted in Thai Baht or USD.
Credit Card Authorization (Requires leaving passport)
- Daily rentals: ฿8,000 pre-authorization
- Weekly or longer rentals: ฿15,000 pre-authorization
- International border crossings: ฿30,000 pre-authorization
Passport Deposit Alternative
For customers who prefer not to leave their passport, we offer an alternative arrangement. With a valid International Driver’s Permit with motorcycle certification, purchase of our Damage/Theft coverage, and a 15,000 deposit for the insurance deductible, no passport deposit is required. Without coverage, a passport deposit is mandatory. Passports are secured in our fireproof safe, and we provide copies of your passport and visa pages for your convenience.
Cross Border Travel
For border crossings to Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia, motorcycle temporary export documents are available for a ฿5,000 fee. We also require a ฿30,000 international border crossing security deposit instead of your passport. We provide all legally required documents according to Thai regulations. However, successful border crossings cannot be guaranteed as final approval depends on the discretion of border officials at the time of crossing.
Payment Terms
Full payment is required on the first day of rental. We accept multiple payment methods:
- Cash (Thai Baht or USD)
- Bank transfer
- Credit card (additional 3% processing fee applies)
Rider Responsibilities and Restrictions
Only the renter listed on the agreement may drive the motorcycle.
The motorcycle must not be used for racing, stunts, or illegal activities.
Riding under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances is strictly prohibited.
All riders must obey Thai traffic laws at all times.
These rules help reduce risks and protect both riders and Ducky’s from liability.
Inspection & Condition Reporting
Renters are encouraged to thoroughly inspect the motorcycle before leaving the rental location.
Taking photos or videos of the bike’s condition at pickup is highly recommended.
This documentation helps prevent disputes over damage responsibility upon return.
Mechanical Issues Handling
All motorcycles are maintained to high standards to ensure safety and reliability.
If you experience mechanical problems during your rental, contact us immediately.
Do not attempt any repairs yourself unless specifically authorized by Ducky’s.
We will provide roadside assistance or arrange a replacement bike if necessary.
Breakdowns caused by rider misuse or negligence are not covered by Ducky’s.
Late Returns
- After hours returns are allowed with prior notification.
After hour returns without notifying us in advance may incur additional fees charged at the daily rental rate or higher.
If you would like to extend your rental, notify us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you. However, there may be times when you motorcycle is already reserved by another party after your expected return date.
